CIC Doggie Love
When you get around the dogs, you get a big old grin on your face, and it just makes everything easier. Petting a canine companion can help de-stress and ease depression. So come on over with your kiddies and help them do well in their annual testing.
Activities will include: Petting the dogs, handing out treats (with parent and owner permission). And of course, meeting and socializing with good friends. We look forward to seeing you all in large numbers.
Seminar on Social Learning
This presentation is designed to teach parents what a social learning challenge is, as well as frameworks, concepts, and strategies so that they may better understand the social learning experience and what it looks like across the day. Attendees will explore a variety of tools and strategies to help their loved ones process and respond to social clues. Information will also be provided the Social Thinking clinic and services.
Presenter: Allison King is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certified Speech-Language Pathologist. In 2012, she accepted the position of Social Cognitive Therapist at Social Thinking-Stevens Creek, and has spent the past seven years helping tweens and teens, young and mature adults to navigate the often murky and confusing social world. She happily accepted the position of Clinic Director in 2018. Allison likes to hone her techniques and approaches on her husband and 5 year old daughter, who affectionately refer to this experience as "being Social Thunk”.
