CIC Discover India 2018 presented by Vimana
Thanks to the incredible response from the community for the Discover India event, we are now full. We are no longer taking any signups. If you are interested in joining the waitlist, please send an email and we will add you in if we have any last minute drop outs.
We have a sponsor for our event!
We are also super happy to share that this year’s event will be sponsored by Vimana, a Bay Area startup. What makes it exciting is that Vimana is the brain child of a long time member of the community, Sada Malladi. Vimana is in the process of raising funds for its first product, the Vimana Home System on Indiegogo and we encourage members of the community to see their Indiegogo page and support it if you are interested. We think this is a very relevant product for the digital age. Before we jump into some details about Discover India (see bottom of this post), here is a brief introduction about Vimana.
Vimana is an all-in-one system comprising of a small piece of hardware and free apps to monitor and manage the digital consumption on all the screens in your home. With Vimana, you can:
- Manage what your kids do on their devices
- Monitor where your kids spend their time online
- Limit daily screen time per device and app
Vimana is super simple to setup and provides a wealth of information at your fingertips to make informed decisions on what is right for your child.

Discover India Logistics
We will share the final logistics of the event as we get closer to Sunday. In the meantime, some details to help you plan for the day.
1. We will start the event at 2 pm. Please be at the venue at 1:45 pm so we can start on time. We have a packed event and it would be fun to go through all the questions and not trim the program because we run out of time.
2. We plan to wrap up (ideally) by 5 pm and no later than 5:30 pm.
3. We will have a snack break with chai and some small snacks available for purchase. Please bring some change.
4. The event is in the Cambrian Park Library on Hillsdale.
5. For folks who don’t have a team, we will do matchmaking at the venue and we will ensure you are paired with the best folks- if you want to make new friends, you can. Or if you prefer to partner with old buddies, that will also be OK.
6. Remember that there is a team fee of $5 which you can give by cash check to Cambrian Indian Community at the venue prior to the event.
